The ANDRA Top Doorslammer Championship headed to Western Australia for the 37th Goldenstate Championships and local knowledge proved to be an advantage as WA locals, John Zappia and Robin Judd fought out a tough final.
John Zappia stamped his authority on Australian Top Doorslammer racing this weekend, with a super consistent performance that saw his Striker Monaro run six five second passes over two days of racing, and win Round Two of the 2008/2009 ANDRA Championship by defeating local Robin Judd in the final in front of a home crowd.
In ANDRA Championship Top Bike it was the man who had to travel further than anyone else who set the pace, with New Zealander Athol Williams topping the time sheets ahead of local ace Jay Upton and Victorian young gun, Sam Parker, who after recording his first 6-second pass in qualifying continued to go faster throughout the event.
This Sunday should definitely see ANDRA Championship Drag Racing fans, glued to their seats – with two exciting shows from the Spring Nationals Event at Queensland’s Willowbank Raceway, via both the Nine Network & SBS.
