Over 250 Drag Racing teams have nominated for this weekends final Drag Racing event of the season – the WA Drag Racing Grand Finals.

Traditionally the final event of the West Australian Drag Racing season has lower entry numbers – but not so for this seasons closer with a well above average number of entries received.

The Group 2 fields boast not only quantity but quality with K Trans Top Comp eliminator having 20 entries, Pro Auto Service Super Comp 15 and Trophy Specialist Competition Bike having 12 riders facing the starter.

Group 3 has large numbers in all eliminators including a massive 63 entries in Stone Racing Transmissions Super Sedan and the largest field of WA Modified racers ever with 28 West Aussie Modified racers entered.

In K Trans Top Comp all eyes are on defending Australian Top Doorslammer champion John Zappia to see if he can not only clinch the state title but also break into the 5.7 second zone given the proven weather conditions that the final event of the season provides each year.

Zappia holds a slender lead over AA/AP record holder Maurice Brennan and Rob Pilkington who ran the quickest ever AA/FC pass at the last event when Pilkington ran a sensational 5.796.

The WA Drag Racing Grand finals is the final event of the Perth Motorplex major Drag Racing event season which has seen 9 national opened conducted over 14 days.
