There was an All Altered Spectular at Calder in 1981 or 1982 I am not sure but one or the other. I was one on the headline cars at the time, and we were paid to attend. I actually had Trevor Hawthorne and Dave Lomas as crew for the weekend. Unfortunately we only got 2 qualifing passes in and over come a dust storm then it went from 40 deg. to 5 deg. and to top it off poured rain till late . The meeting was cancelled so a wasted trip as usual. I cant remember who organised it but it was a good turnout they even went to the trouble of having a saturday night dinner and entertainment. pity about the weather.

Yes great idea. You could always run a heads up format for the faster altereds and a dial-in for the slower cars. You would get some nice fast race cars there.

Now i reckon we should work on shacks ,baileys, would not take any convincing to convert sheehan over to fuel altereds ...grass roots racing ....I no a pipe dream but think how cool it would be with all those alky altereds mentioned above as back up.......

I have a fiat body for the bailey boys but cant convince them dooooooohhhh!!!!. what about you worms.......

If you hired Willowbank out for a weekend, found a sponsor, did all the legals, and ran some outlaw classes;
ie. Fuel/Nitro altereds, outlaw doorslammer, nitro funny car etc.
Appart from the money, what are the other objections?
