What a sweet looking funny car. I hope it gets reborn again. What has happened to Fred Perotto? Roland Jahn (nine fingers of death) is more into boats these days. Mike Watkins has his Outlaws Altered. Roland's son crews for Mike too.

Fred was into boats as well, he lost his son Dave a couple of years back in the Southern 500 ski race on the Murray. Now they run the Dave Perotto Memorial Race. Fred was building Dog trailers for a living the last time I spoke to him.

after the veem guys had it, miocevich, the car was sold to jeff beacham in perth, he put in a few different engine combos, he had a go at driving it, bit prefered to tune and watch it go, jeff suggested i havve a go at driving it(clive hudson)i raced it for i think 4 seasons at ravenswood, then was parked up, the 2nd season at the plex, i took the hemi outa my c10 chev and had a go, but put the motor back in the chev, it again sat for a few years until frank taylor came on the scene and BORROWED the funnycar for a couple of seasons , but it is coming back home to our shed soon, to get a much deserved revamping,,,,so,,,its still owned by jeffrey beacham to this day,and will remain that way for a long time, despite having been offered from a few people to buy it,NOT FOR SALE, says jeff !!!.

Some of my earliest 8mm filming was the meet when the US Marines car ran at Castlereagh. It was only a cheap camera and as the car ran in the evening the picture is very grainy. I haven't watched the film in a looong time but I think it raced against Neil Randell's Mustang.

I'm currently digitising a cupboard full of VHS so I'll get to it again one day.

When the car arrived in Australia there was a promotional piece on the news with the car at, I think, Garden Island. I didn't have a VCR in those days, did anyone else capture it?

Just spent a few hours checking out those pics and I have come to the conclusion that EVERYBODY in the U.S. has at one time owned a Funny Car. Lovin it. Thanks guys.
